What is IRAM certification
IRAM was established in 1935. It is a certification body for electronic technology products approved by the OAA (Argentina Accreditation Organization) and a certification body for compulsory certification products approved by the government.
Certified product range
The Argentine government passed two new resolutions 197/2004 and 198/2004. 197/2004 allowed manufacturers and importers to choose different certification systems. The Argentine authorities revised the certification system at the end of 2004 and announced resolution 197/2004. And put this plan into practice. Resolution 197/2004 applies to the following products: electronic and electrical products, toys, personal protection products.
Appliance applicants can choose any of the following authentication methods:
A mark certification
Type B certification
C batch certification
In 198/2004, there are mandatory certification requirements for some electrical and electronic products. The following stipulations in the agreement 198/2004 are no longer included in the scope of mandatory certification:
-Products with rated current greater than 63A
- Rated voltage is less than 50V, use battery power
- Rated power industry less than 50V with external power supply (including battery operation)
In addition, the following requirements must also be met:
- Power must have valid Argentine certification
- The specification of the power supply or the model of the power supply to be fitted must be indicated in the product specification
- The product specification must indicate that it is dangerous to use an unspecified power source
However, products that fall below 50V and are still subject to mandatory certification requirements include:
- Use of lighting and lighting supply systems on mains 50V AC
- Dichroic lamps and lamp holders
- Hand-held power tools
- Electric fence starter
- Fitness Electronic Muscle Stimulator

CB test report plus CB certificate, or IEC English test report plus national requirements of Argentina

Spanish safety warnings, Spanish-language manuals, factory inspection reports from Rheinland on the nameplate
The plug complies with Argentine IRAM 2063/2073 standard certificate (if the plug does not comply with Argentine IRAM standard, additional specifications and samples of the plug must be provided)
Certification process
1. Complete the application form
2. Issue report according to IEC standard or IRAM standard
3. Provide proof of differences in Argentina, such as differences report
4. Sample identification
5. List Argentina certified importers and exporters
6. Trademark registration
7. Registered company name in public business
8. Signing of procedural rules
9. Factory inspection report (once a year)
