What is Kenya PVOC certification
“Pre-shipment Verification of Conformity (PVoC)” is a new measure to replace the past “Pre-shipment Inspection(PSI)" . This measure stipulates that all goods entering Kenya must be certified to meet Kenyan standards or be accredited by the ISO/IEC 17025 system, the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (International), Laboratory Accreditation, Co-operation, or ILAC The “Product Test Certificate” issued by the International Federation of Inspection Institutions (the International Federation of Inspection Agencies, IFIA).
Product certification scope
1. All used products, including but not limited to:
Electronics (including electronic devices) and electrical products (including household appliances), motorcycles, bicycles, textiles. Second-hand tires, automotive spare parts.
2. Food, agricultural products, including but not limited to:
Packaged foods, milk and dairy products, meat and meat products, fruit juices, beverages, alcoholic beverages, oils and fats, cereals, sugar and sugar products, and animal feed.
3. Chemical products, including but not limited to:
M/V tires, bicycle tires, pencils, ballpoint pens, rubber condoms, paper and paper products, soaps and detergents, shoe polish, safety matches, chemical fertilizers, water purifiers, cement.
4. Fuel and petroleum products, including but not limited to:
Gasoline, paraffin, oil and lubricants.
5. Textiles, including but not limited to:
Fabrics, clothing, yarns, blankets, upholstery, furniture fabrics, rags, carpets.
6. Footwear, including but not limited to footwear made from the following materials:
Leather, rubber, plastic, canvas or other synthetics.
7. Toys and child care products (all categories), including but not limited to:
Dolls, miniatures, and simulation models
8. Electronic (including electronic devices) and electrical products, including but not limited to:
Electronics (including electronic devices) and electrical products: Household appliances, photocopiers, computers, printers, and other electronic consumables other than lamp holders, switches, and plugs
9. Mechanical products, including but not limited to:
LPG cylinders and accessories, gasoline and kerosene stoves, windproof lights, locks, nails, hand tools, bicycles, auto parts, shock absorbers, fan belts, seat belts, brake pads, spark plugs.
PVOC's fee includes three parts.
1. Registration fee<15>15 product names (including 15 product names) is USD375.00, plus USD20 for each of more than 15 product names .00 If the registration certificate is changed, USD 40.00 will be included in 2 places (including 2 places), and USD 20.00 will be added in more than 2 places. 2. Authentication cycle
The period for applying for PVOC certification in Kenya depends on the application method. In the case of qualified applicants in the previous period, channel 1 is generally adopted, which can be obtained in about 2 weeks. In case of adopting route 2, strict test reports are required to be reviewed. If retesting occurs, the time will be much longer, generally requiring 2-3 week.
